In Person And Online Therapy
A warm, non-judgemental space to explore what matters to you.
A warm, non-judgemental space to explore what matters to you.

Hello
I am Jo, an integrative counsellor and registered member of the BACP offering affordable therapy in person and online. Walking therapy is also available depending on the weather and location.
My approach to therapy is to bring my whole,
genuine self into our sessions. By doing so, we can build a therapeutic relationship rooted in equality, respect, and trust.
Having spent many hours in personal therapy myself, I understand how daunting it can be to start this journey and to find the right counsellor. Something has brought you here, and I’d be curious to know what that is.
For me, counselling is really about creating a space where you can be honest about how things really are … not about how you think they should be .
A place to pause , work things through and perhaps reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been waiting for some attention.
You don’t have to have it all figured out .
None of us really do.

Perhaps you’ve reached a point in your life where things feel different, but you’re not quite sure what you need or where to go from here.
I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, a space where you can feel heard, supported and able to explore whatever may be affecting your wellbeing, relationships or sense of direction. Sometimes we may be dealing with something that is happening in our lives now; at other times, experiences from earlier in life can continue to shape how we feel, relate to others and see ourselves. Together, we can gently explore these experiences at a pace that feels right for you, with care and understanding.
I have a particular interest in supporting people through midlife and the transitions that come with it. This can be a time of significant change — relationships may shift, children may grow up and become more independent while others remain at home for longer than expected, ageing parents may need more support, work and identity can change, and you may find yourself asking questions about who you are and what you want from life.
As a mother, a daughter and a grandmother I have a personal appreciation of the different roles and responsibilities we can carry within our families, and how easy it can be to lose sight of our own needs while caring for others. I’m interested in helping people explore that balance, without judgement or expectation.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, stuck or simply aware that something needs to change. You may be navigating a relationship difficulty, loss, family changes, questions about identity or a period of uncertainty. Or perhaps there is no obvious crisis, but you would value having somewhere to talk openly and honestly about how life feels.
I know from my own experiences midlife can be challenging but I also believe it can be a time of growth, reflection and rediscovery … A time to reconnect with yourself and consider what you want the next chapter of your life to look like.
If you would like a free 30-minute
introductory meeting, please get in touch and we can arrange it. This will be a relaxed conversation to see if we are a good fit, because feeling comfortable and connected is an important first step.
If you decide to continue, our first session will include sharing some personal details for my records. We will also create an agreement that works for both of us and meets any legal requirements to keep our work together safe and professional.
I know from my own experience all this can feel quite overwhelmimg. Please be assured that I will guide you through each stage with care and understanding. I work with all clients equally and collaboratively, tailoring each session to suit your individual needs wherever possible.
